Sites to Visit
On New Year’s Day 1910, much of downtown Crawfordville was destroyed by fire. The results of the town’s recovery can be viewed online here.

Crawfordville Confederate Memorial (Civil War); Dedicated on April 30, 1898; this monument was initially placed at the center of the intersection of Broad and Monument Streets. In 1940, it was relocated to the south lawn of the Taliaferro County Courthouse; it can be viewed online here.

Liberty Hall (Home of Alexander Hamilton Stephens); Dedicated 1936; Located at the north end of Monument Street; can be viewed online here.

Taliaferro County World War I Memorial (All Wars); Dedicated May 1929; Located southwest corner, Taliaferro County Courthouse; can be viewed online here.

Taliaferro County World Wars Memorial (World War I, World War II); Dedicated October 31, 1954; Located near the east entrance to Taliaferro County Courthouse; can be viewed online here.
